We're not just closer to the clouds up here in the high country; we're practically neighbors with the sun at 9600 feet! With that much solar affection, there is a fine line between a sun-kissed glow and a sunburned red. Slather on that sunscreen!

Sure, there's still snow underfoot, but don't be fooled – spring sunshine will surprise you! It's a bit of a weather rollercoaster. You might start the day bundled up, but by midday, you might wish you were in a t-shirt. Bring layers!

Beanie? Check. Sunhat? Double-check. Mornings may be frosty and evenings crisp, but when that midday sun starts to beam down, you'll be grateful for that brimmed hat. If you forget your hat, a great place to find one is Slopestyle in downtown Breckenridge.

Gaper Day at Arapahoe Basin

April 1st – Gaper Day at Arapahoe Basin is your chance to unleash your inner fashionista on the slopes. Dust off those retro onesies, break out the neon and get ready to turn heads (or maybe just raise a few eyebrows). Because why blend in when you were born to stand out?

 Breckenridge Pond Skim

Fancy a dip, anyone? On April 27th, Breckenridge is hosting its infamous Pond Skim event, where skiers and snowboarders attempt to glide across a pool of icy cold water without taking an involuntary plunge. It's a sight to behold, whether you're shredding or spectating. Remember, you must register ahead of time to participate. 

Breckenridge Resort Imperial Challenge

 On April 6th, Breckenridge presents the Imperial Challenge – a test of endurance, skill, and type 2 fun. This multi-sport event includes biking, skinning, and skiing. Starting in Breckenridge, you will bike with your skis to the base of Peak 8, then skin to the top of the Imperial Chair Lift, and finish by skiing down! 

Keystone Resort Springtastic 

Join Keystone for their closing weekend, April 15-16th, a party to remember! Enjoy live music and spring sunshine. Bring the whole family to participate in the Slush Cup competition for kids and adults. Check out the complete event list and register on the Keystone Resort website. 

Copper Mountain Slush Rush 

Grab two friends to form a team of three and compete in Copper's Slush Rush on April 27th! Wear fun outfits, register on the Copper Mountain website, and get ready to skim across that pond or perhaps take an icy plunge.
